Professional Biography

Tahir Khan is a lower limb orthopaedic reconstruction surgeon, specialising in hip surgery (arthroplasty, arthroscopy and osteotomies) for sports injuries and arthritis.

His experience and interest includes children’s orthopaedics, and hip and knee surgery including hip and knee arthroscopy, realignment osteotomies, total hip replacement and, in particular, hip pain in children, adolescents and young adults.

Tahir Khan is currently working at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. In October 2002 he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust, where he established a high-quality lower limb and children’s orthopaedic surgery practice before moving to Stanmore in May 2013.

He trained in the Northwest of England (Sheffield, Birmingham and Manchester) and undertook specialist fellowship training in USA, Toronto, Canada and Mainz, Germany.

He is particularly interested in hip preservation surgery and offers hip arthroscopic surgery and osteotomies around the hip joint.
