The seventh annual ISEH 5K and 10K run took place in London's beautiful Regent's Park on Sunday 23 June in excellent running conditions on a warm and breezy day.

We were delighted to once again have double Olympian Joslyn Hoyte-Smith in attendance who warmed up the competitors before officially starting the race as well as congratulating the runners as they finished.

The run was a licensed chip timed event and attracted both competitive runners from several running clubs as well as people who wanted to use the race to test their exercise regimes and become more active, something which we are passionate about here at the ISEH.

It was great to see so many familiar faces and returning runners. Well done to HCA Princess Grace Hospital team who were raising money for Bowel Cancer UK as part of the Step up for 30 challenge and to the team from Cognacity and SEPSIG who always turn out in force to support the run. We also had a number of people from The Harington Scheme who were raising money for their charity by walking the 10K as well as a number of teams from UCLH, the London Hand and Wrist Unit and UCL Eastman.

Runners were supported around the course by enthusiastic marshals and at the end of the race were greeted with a smiley face, a fantastic medal and some healthy refreshments.

There were prizes for the first three finishers (male and female) in the both the 5K and 10K races. Congratulations to Evan Dzik and Rebecca Clarke who came 1st (male and female) in the 10k and each won a free CPEX fitness test at the ISEH and to Bernhard Rumpf and Victoria Walker who came 1st (male and female) in the 5K.
