Dr Amal Hassan is a sport & exercise medicine consultant, completing her higher specialist training in London. Based at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health, she has a specialist interest in female athlete and women's health, as well as dance medicine & science. She is a postgraduate clinical lecturer in sport & exercise medicine at University College London, and sports physician at the Royal Ballet Lower School and Harlequins Women's Rugby Club.
Amal's interest within female athlete and women's health includes exercise and training in pregnancy and return to sport and exercise postpartum; relative energy deficiency in sport, menstrual dysfunction, and bone stress injuries; navigating fertility treatment and the perimenopause as an athletic individual and the management of hip, groin, and pelvic pain. She is also experienced in supporting individuals through fatigue and performance-related difficulties.
Amal is passionate about reducing the gender health gap and contributing to improving the specialist care afforded to all girls and women.
