Professional Biography

Greg Retter joined The British Olympic Association as Head of Performance Services in May 2019 where his role is to oversee the delivery of all performance aspects for Team GB across the IOC accredited summer and winter Games.

His background is working in sport where he had previously managed Team GB’s Intensive Rehabilitation Unit for elite Olympic athletes from 2008 - 2013, in partnership with The English Institute of Sport.

He has a long association with Team GB having worked as a Headquarters Physiotherapist at 5 Summer and Winter Olympic Games, starting with Sydney 2000, and culminating in London 2012. He has also attended 5 Commonwealth Games with Team England through the same period.

In 2013 he took up the new post of Clinical Director at The Royal Ballet Company based at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. His role was to oversee and lead the healthcare delivery to the 100 dancers across a wide range of disciplines. During his time at The Royal Ballet he introduced a paradigm shift in the understanding and delivery of performance services in a dance context via the integrated delivery from a multidisciplinary team.
