Professional Biography

Dr Eleanor Tillett is an honorary consultant at University College London Hospital and is also co-organiser of the UCL MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health.

Eleanor undertook undergraduate training at Guy's, King's & St Thomas's Hospital Medical School. In 2003 she gained an MSc (Distinction) in Sports Medicine at Queen Mary College, University of London and completed specialist training in 2009. She was awarded the British Association of Sport & Exercise Medicine Malcolm Read Scholarship in 2009. She has worked in various elite sports settings including Team Doctor for GB Figure Skating, Team GB Doctor for 2010 Winter Olympics, GB Women’s Basketball, England Women’s Football, World University Games, Youth Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics, the London Marathon and the London Triathlon. Dr Tillett has a keen interest in medical education and is Vice Chair of the national training programme for Sport and Exercise Medicine and training programme director in London.

Her particular clinical interests include back and neck pain, spinal stress fractures (spondylolysis), adolescent sports injuries and exercise-based rehabilitation for all types of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. This includes working with anyone wishing to be more physically active for their health, day to day life or work, as well as recreational and elite athletes. Eleanor also has an interest in exercise during pregnancy and pregnancy related back pain.
