He was Head of Sports Medicine at Manchester City FC when the club won the 2011-2012 Premier League, following which he was the England Rugby Senior Team Doctor between 2012-2014. Professor Mathew Wilson, Head of Sport and Exercise Medicine at the ISEH said: "The number of children becoming seriously injured during sport is rising. Injury prevention and management for this population is challenging due to growth and maturation, sleep and nutrition, and educational pressures. The ISEH is excited to grow our paediatric and adolescent sports medicine offering in 2021. The appointment of Phil Batty will help the ISEH support this unique sporting cohort (and their parents) following injury."
Professor Fares Haddad, Director of the ISEH said: “We are delighted to welcome Phil Batty to the ISEH. His knowledge and experience will ensure that our adolescent sports medicine service is second to none.”
