In an interview with the Telegraph, Dr Mike Loosemore has warned those in charge of rugby not to introduce headguards in an effort to combat the rise in head injuries within the sport.

Dr Loosemore is a consultant at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH) and the English Institute of Sport. He recently argued successfully for the removal of headguards from men's amateur boxing in the UK.
