Since the start of the year British Athletics are now operating their London diagnostic medical centre for World Class Performance Plan British Athletes from the ISEH on a Monday and Friday under the supervision of Dr Noel Pollock, Chief Medical Officer for British Athletics.

Dr Pollock leads the British Athletics medical team, comprised of physiotherapists, osteopaths and soft tissue therapists, providing elite athlete support to Britain’s finest track and field athletes.

Dr Pollock said: "We look forward to providing excellent diagnostic medical services for British Track and Field Athletes with the team at ISEH.

We are pleased to further our relationship at the ISEH which is also the National Centre of Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) in London and hope to develop this NCSEM partnership further at our Loughborough National Performance Institute later this year.

This will greatly assist with athlete preparation across the country as we aim to London 2017 World Championships and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics".

Matt James ISEH Development Director said "over the last few years we have built an excellent relationship with  Noel and British Athletics and this further development clearly demonstrates the obvious synergy  that exists between both parties and we look forward to building further on this relationship".

2017 is a big year for athletics with the IAAF World Championships taking place in London at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this summer.

The ISEH is a state-of-art facility in Central London and provides excellence in elite sports performance and sports injury prevention and management whilst bridging the gap between elite sport, amateur sports and exercise prescription, for the improvement of the healthcare of the population.

You can be referred to the ISEH as both a NHS or private patient.
