We are seeking a dynamic, driven physician to join the Institute of Sport Exercise and Health (ISEH) as a Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant.
In this role, the successful candidate will work within our specialist facility dedicated to sport and exercise medicine, providing both proactive and reactive medical care to a diverse patient population.
The responsibilities of this role, a part-time position will include, injury prevention, diagnosis, and management of musculoskeletal and medical conditions, as well as supporting athletes and contributing to the expansion of sports medicine services at ISEH and UCLH.
There is potential for the successful candidate to apply for Practicing Privileges with our partner organisation, HCA Healthcare, enabling them to establish a private Sport and Exercise Medicine practice at ISEH. This presents a unique chance to consolidate both NHS and private activities into a single location.
Primary responsibilities will include:
• Providing precise diagnoses and tailored care plans for patients with musculoskeletal conditions seeking to engage in physical activity or competition, or those who stand to benefit from exercise.
• Actively participating as a team member in specialised clinics at UCLH.
• Offering clinical oversight to patients opting for conservative treatment.
• Taking a lead role in organising and facilitating multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings at ISEH, ensuring their clinical expertise is accessible to fellow clinicians and allied healthcare professionals.
• Engaging in clinical audits aimed at enhancing the quality of care extended to ISEH patients.
• Supporting, and delivering educational and professional development initiatives aimed at elevating clinical care standards.
