The new 2015/2016 cohort of doctors and physiotherapists has been welcomed by the Institute of Sport Exercises and Health for a second year. The MSc in Performing Arts Medicine is taught under the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science at University College London.

This semester the students take part in modules on musculoskeletal and neuromuscular injury, travelling and touring, pharmacology and disability in the performing arts as well as research methodology.

They have opportunities to meet experts in the exciting field of Performing Arts Medicine and also talk to performers who give their first hand experience on the physical and mental issues affecting their profession.

The Performing Arts Medicine students this year come from UK, Portugal, Greece, Iceland, Poland and Hungary. They bring along their diverse medical backgrounds but also their love for the performing arts and their aspiration to become involved in the healthcare of this unique patient group. As they are now preparing for their research projects leading to their Masters, we wish them a successful and enjoyable year.
